Q.1. What is the Diagnostic Growth Tool (DGT)?

#Everyone

Please have a look at Diagnostic Toolkit Informational Page.

Q.2. Is the DGT also applicable to other firms that are not active in the High-Technology industry?

#Everyone

The tool has been developed based on a focus on the technology industry, however, the underlying principles are applicable to the larger audience of firms that are active in dynamic environments. The less dynamic the environment, the more predictable it gets. The growth-related issues accompanying less dynamic environments are different and require different approaches than in the dynamic environment setting. For this reason, the output results may benefit firms that do not operate in such dynamic environments less than it would those that do.

Q.3. How can one know where the firm requires help and how can we interpret the results?

#Coaches and trainers wanting to support their client firms with the help of the DGT

The output report is developed to function as an entity on its own. Essentially, it provides a rather in-depth explanation of the situation sketch and capability diagnosis of the firm based on their results. This way, it provides the reader with both (1) an explanation of what the concepts assessed mean, (2) how these results may relate to other assessed concepts inside the tool, (3) a recommendation based on the output results of each firm, and finally (4) in some cases self-reflection questions are added to further guide the implementation process of the output results.

  • For the firm itself: this means that the report should enable the understanding of the outputs, specifically via self-reflection of how these apply to the actual operations inside the company.
  • For coaches and trainers: this means that the report provides a guide to go deeper into the connection of this diagnosis together with other potential insights or knowledge you already have (or want to collect) on the client firm in question.
